What is K-9 Kup ?
K-9 Kup is a series of fun competitions for dogs and handlers for the purpose of gaining trial experience and having a good time. This fun competition fosters teamwork, camaraderie and good sportsmanship and takes place over the entire summer and early fall in the form of 4 separate matches. A maximum of 14 teams of up to 10 dogs are formed from agility clubs in Eastern Ontario. Each match consists of a standard course, and 2 games chosen from gamblers, snookers, jumpers, team relay or a mystery game. All courses are approved by an AAC accredited judge and run according to AAC (Agility Association of Canada) Starters rules.

K-9 Kup - Details
K-9 Kup matches are run like a trial with a Judges briefing, walking the course, running the course, volunteering and set-up of the courses. K-9 Kup is only possible when all teams/individuals competing, pitch in to assist in all aspects of running of the events
Teams
Dogs at all levels participate with handicaps assigned to titled dogs according to the title they hold. As always we will focus on dogs without their Starters titles. Teams consist of up to 10 dogs and we recommend that only 1/2 of the dogs on a team hold any AAC Titles, as this fun match is still geared to beginner dogs. All courses will be modified Starters courses, with one course set up in each field. All dogs will run under the same rules (Starters). Dogs with titles will start each run with a handicap to make scoring fair to all competing. Remember only the top 4 dogs running on a team will count for points

Starters titles dogs will have a handicap of 10 points
Advanced Title dogs will have a handicap of 20 points
Masters/Champion Title dogs will have a handicap of 30 points.

Each team should be made up of a majority of non-titled dogs to keep things fun. We will be limiting the total
number of teams to fourteen (14) that have registered before the closing date. Teams must ensure that all forms
and a $35 fee for their members are submitted prior to the closing date to ensure that their team will be registered. ADSC will notify team captains if they have been accepted, so get those registrations in early so you don't miss out.

Note - All Team Captains MUST have a valid email address as all information will only be sent by email.

Volunteers
Volunteer Team Rules are as follows:

Each team will supply two (2) volunteers for each match. If your volunteers for the day are also members of your team, those 2 people will forfeit running their dogs for that match. When the team captains pick up their attendance forms in the morning they must also let the K-9 Kup coordinator know who will be their volunteers that day. They will be assigned jobs at that time i.e.: ring stewards, scribe, runners and timer etc. **ADSC will attempt to supply some volunteers such as timers and scribes but be prepared to fill all positions. If a team fails to provide volunteers on the day of the event they will be disqualified and not allowed to run. The volunteers will move with their assigned Division, when the Division moves from ring to ring. Local team volunteers will be assigned to set-up the courses the day before the event and ALL teams will take down and clean up after the event.

For ADSC Members the team volunteer requirement for K-9 does not count towards your club volunteer hours. Only the ADSC dedicated** volunteers listed above will be counted towards club volunteer hours
